CNA-PHLEBOTOMY-EKG TECHNICIAN

This program is ideal for students interested in a career in nursing plus diagnostic services. It will provide students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals in residential care, group homes, and sheltered workshops with medication. It includes administration of medications, measuring and charting, vital signs and legal aspects. Embedded is Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR training and credentialing. The program allows the student the opportunity to gain advanced standing credit in a licensed practical nurse program. This program also teaches students the methods of drawing blood and practices different techniques of collecting blood from patients and donors; students will learn to operate electrocardiogram equipment to monitor the patient’s heart rhythm. Students will learn to interpret and evaluate electrocardiogram tracings. Students will participate in practicum experience for an EKG technician in laboratory and clinical settings that utilize EKG monitors.
